I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! Now that the cold weather is here, please ensure that your children come prepared…coats, hats, mitts, boots, and anything else that will keep them warm.

Field trip is on Friday.

A Year Ahead Day will take place on Thursday, December 10. This is a chance for all grade 4’s to experience what life is like in grade 5. All grade 4’s will spend the day with Ms. Kominek who is this year’s grade 5 teacher. I will get to have all the grade 3’s and show that how we roll!! Please keep in mind that although Ms. Kominek is the grade 5 teacher this year, it does not mean she will be the grade 5 teacher next year. The same goes for me as well!

January lunch forms are due by Wednesday, December 16 by 3:30 PM!

MATH

Today we focused on looking at patterns. For example 2 X 6 = 12, 2 X 60 = 120, 2 X 600 = 1200. We use the base number and then add the appropriate number of zeros!!

LANGUAGE

Today we did lesson #11 in our spelling workbooks. Our spelling test will be on Thursday this week as our field trip is on Friday. We also discussed our Christmas concert!

UOI

Today we shared our artifacts…what a great job everyone did. I was very pleased to see the results!! Great job again Grade 4’s. I will post pictures tomorrow!!

Today half of the class was away on a soccer tournament so we did some fun activities. We did math worksheets, read and answered comprehension questions on a passage about Springer, an orphaned orca. We then played hangman and ten. For UOI we completed information card 14: Pioneer Clothing.

This morning we were judged for science fair. What an amazing job the grade 4’s did. The blew me out of the water with their experiments. They should all be very proud…I most definitely am!

Today we had reading buddies and completed our 2015/2016 portfolio title pages.

Science fair is tomorrow, Thursday, November 26. The grade 4’s will be judged between 9-10:30! Parents are welcome to join us in the auditorium from 2:30-3:15 PM.
