The French Play is tomorrow! We will be leaving at 10:30 with a return time of 1:30-2:00. We will be having hot lunch upon our return, so please send extra snacks for those who ordered a hot lunch!

MATH

Today we examined elapsed time, which is the time that passes between the beginning of something and the end of something.

LANGUAGE

Today we went back to the basic and discussed verbs and adjectives. This will help us with our ‘Wonderful World of Writing’ UOI unit!

UOI

Today we learned about a Quatrain poem. We found out it is a four-lined poem that rhymes. It can have a rhyming pattern of AABB, ABAB, ABBA!

Tomorrow, Thursday, March 31 is Autism Awareness Day! Please wear as much blue as you can!

Mme. Stella will be taking the grade 3’s and 4’s to a French play. The play will be taking place on Friday, April 1.

MATH

Today we looked at estimating time. We began by estimating how long it would take students to say the alphabet from a-z as well as say it backwards. Then we estimated how long it takes to do certain activities in the classroom. Then we began working out of our textbooks!!

LANGUAGE

Today we had our reading buddies. Its been a while since we have been able to read with our JK friends, so we were very happy to be able to do so. We also completed our pre-assessments for our term 3 OWA!

UOI

Today we learned how to write a recipe. We did an example on chart paper and then the students began one of their own!

It also took Nicole 13 seconds to say the alphabet backwards!

It took Shri to 12 to do 20 jumping jacks!

It took Laryssa 3 seconds to do 5 pushups!

It took Zara 42 seconds to walk around half of the school!

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone had a great extra long Easter weekend! Ours was low key as we decided to stay here instead of going up North! Although we did get to see Garth Brooks on Friday, which was amazing!

Thank you so much to all the families who came out to support the MYP Shakespeare play! Ms. Lopez and the MYP students did a fantastic job. It was a great show!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 30 is casual day!

Thursday, March 31 wear BLUE to support Autism Awareness Day!

Mme. Stella will be taking the grade 3’s and 4’s to a French play. The play will be taking place on Friday, April 1. I am still waiting on 2 forms…these must be brought in tomorrow. This field trip is not optional!

Today we focused on telling time. We began by reviewing some key concepts about telling time. Then we did some practice on the board. After that the grade 4’s did some work out of their textbook!

LANGUAGE

Today we did spelling lesson 24.

UOI

Today we learned how to write a letter. We learned that there are certain parts to a letter such as a greeting, the body, and the closing.

What is Action?

Many people think that Action is easy to define. It is something you do, right? But Action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world?

If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop.

Taking action can happen at any age. It’s all about how we as parents, educators, and the community, support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents!

If your child performs action at home please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know and they will be placed on our action wall of fame!
